At the Foundation for Rock Hill Schools, we are committed to ensuring every student has the resources they need to succeed—both in and out of the classroom. That’s why we partnered with Rock Hill Schools to apply for a critical grant through the Community Partnership Foundation. This funding will directly support students experiencing homelessness by providing temporary emergency housing while their long-term needs are addressed.

Currently, more than 447 students in Rock Hill Schools face housing instability. Without immediate support, they risk further displacement, negatively impacting their well-being and academic growth. This $2,500 grant will provide temporary hotel accommodations, offering students and their families a safe place to stay during challenging times.

The impact of this funding is amplified by the dedication of Rock Hill Schools’ Family Outreach Associates—Cirena Walker, Della Barrett, and Sharada Abraham—who work tirelessly to support students and families navigating hardships. Their commitment to connecting families with critical resources and advocating for their needs makes a lasting difference.

“We are grateful to partner with The Foundation on this effort because every day, we see the impact firsthand. Students and families need our collective support now more than ever.”
– Cirena Walker, Family Outreach Associate for Rock Hill Schools

This initiative is just one example of how collaboration between the Foundation, the school district, and our community partners creates meaningful change. But the work doesn’t stop here—continued investment in programs like this is essential to providing students with the stability they need to thrive.

If you’d like to support efforts like these and help provide vital resources for students in need, consider investing in the Foundation for Rock Hill Schools today. Together, we can work toward a future where every student has the stability and support they deserve.
