Serving Teachers in Innovative Ways
The core business of the Rock Hill School District Foundation is to recognize outstanding educators who are making a difference by demonstrating excellence and creativity in Rock Hill District Three classrooms.
Since 1992, the Teacher Grant program has awarded more than $450,000 to teachers for creative and innovative classroom projects. Thanks to these teachers’ tireless efforts to improve their skills and increase their effectiveness, students in Rock Hill School District Three are experiencing a better learning environment. The Foundations Board of Directors sincerely hopes these grants continue to inspire teachers and serve as a catalyst for a lifetime of learning.
General Information and Procedures
Teacher Grant applications are accepted and awarded on a quarterly basis. For consideration in a given quarter, applications must be received in the Office of Community Services at the Rock Hill School’s administrative office no later than the last working Monday of that preceding consideration month and will be considered during the third week in January, April, July, and October of each year.
A recommendation from the building principal must accompany each application. (If proposal is a district-wide initiative, the recommendation must be completed by an Associate Superintendent.)
To ensure that proposed programs/activities are consistent with the district policy, mission, and instructional guidelines, grant proposals will be reviewed by the Instruction Department.
The Rock Hill School District Foundation Board will determine the recipients of the grants. Their decision will be final. Recipients will be notified through the school district administration. Grant periods are for one year from date of approval.
Grant applications will require the grantee to prepare and submit an outcome evaluation report. This report must include measurable results from the stated objectives of the project. Photos, videos, scrapbooks, and other results are appreciated.
